Verified reviews
How TrustFuel presents customer proof under one clear public term while preserving its source and verification history.
One public term: Verified Reviews
TrustFuel presents every visible customer experience under one clear heading: Verified Reviews. This includes:
- Written testimonials
- Video testimonials
- Result screenshots
- Reviews submitted directly on a public company profile
Each underlying record counts once. A video can also provide a written highlight, but that highlight does not create a second review. Pending, private and profile-hidden records are not included in the public total.
If a Verified Review has a star rating, that rating contributes to the displayed average. Reviews without a star rating remain visible and count toward the public total, but they do not change the average.
One label does not erase provenance
Verified Reviews is the public umbrella term. TrustFuel still preserves how each item entered the system and what evidence is attached to it.
- Direct profile review: the reviewer confirms their email. The customer relationship or purchase is then matched or checked before the review receives verified status.
- Collection form testimonial: the business collects text, a video link or a screenshot through a TrustFuel form. TrustFuel stores the accepted publication and usage wording with the submission.
- Imported or manually added testimonial: the business brings existing customer material into its library and remains responsible for having the rights to publish it. This route does not automatically carry the same evidence as a direct profile review or a TrustFuel form submission.
This distinction matters. A shared public label keeps the profile easy to understand, while the stored source and evidence keep the record honest.
The public profile shows a compact source-context label on every testimonial. Visitors can focus or hover that label to read exactly what TrustFuel has recorded without exposing private verification data.
Automatic public-profile translations
Public company profiles are available in English, German and Spanish. When a visitor opens a language for which public text has not yet been translated, TrustFuel immediately shows the original content and starts a non-blocking translation in the background. The finished translation is stored, so later page views reuse it instead of creating another AI request.
This applies to the public profile tagline, headline, description, services and the written fields of visible Verified Reviews. Names, ratings, URLs, media and private verification records are not translated. The original language remains the source record, and an automatic translation can be corrected by updating the original public content.
How direct review verification works
- A customer writes a review on the public company profile.
- They confirm their email address through a personal link.
- If the email matches a known customer, the review can be verified automatically.
- Otherwise the review waits until the customer relationship or purchase is confirmed.
A business can reply publicly to a verified direct review, but cannot hide or delete it through TrustFuel. That protection applies to direct reviews after verification. It is not a blanket promise for testimonials that the business imported, added or chose to publish itself.
Managing testimonial visibility
Businesses can curate the testimonial formats they publish on their profile:
- Hide one testimonial: open the testimonial and use Hide from profile. It remains available for widgets.
- Hide one contact: open the contact and use Hide from profile. Testimonials from that contact leave the public profile together.
- Widgets and embeds use their own selections, so profile visibility does not silently change an existing widget.
The public page still calls the complete collection Verified Reviews. The source and verification path remain attached behind that simple label.
Invite-only direct reviews
Turn off Allow open reviews on the Public Profile page if you want direct reviews to come only from invited customers. Visitors then see a Request a review invitation button linked to your support email instead of the open review form. Existing Verified Reviews remain visible.
Contact details on your profile
On the Public Profile page you can add your address, support email and website. The website renders as a normal dofollow link to your domain.
Consent records and the rights certificate
TrustFuel collection forms include a mandatory rights step. The customer sees the publication and usage wording before submitting, and TrustFuel records the available evidence:
- Submission timestamp, IP address and device information
- The exact consent wording shown with the form
- Email confirmation where double opt-in is used
- A digital signature where the form requires one
The testimonial detail page shows which records are available. You can also download an A4 PDF certificate that documents that evidence for the submission. The certificate records what happened in TrustFuel, it does not invent evidence for imported or manually added material.
